* Proposte will continue its vision of showcasing future trends and triggering the trade. The ancient Villa Erba at the side of Como Lake will host the event at its unique exhibition area, 7-9 September 2021.
The previous Proposte had been opened at an earlier date, 15-17 April 2109., instead of its traditional dates in early May to coincide with Salone del Mobile of Milan. This time they both had to wait to a better time for safety reasons. Now, the time is ripe to enjoy these two prestigious shows.
The entire European exhibition calendar has been subject to changes and postponements due to the worldwide Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis. Proposte management has examined all possible solutions to implement the best strategy to face the health crisis and has reached the decision to postpone its 2021 appointment to September, Tuesday 7, Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9, overlapping with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile.
“We want to give a positive sign of continuity to the industry’s global market. We are confident that the new September dates will allow us to organize a completely safe event, counting on international mobility between countries, thanks also to the global vaccination campaign, which will make it possible for everyone to attend the event within complete tranquility and carry out their business as usual. We have also decided to overlap our three-day event with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, which will be held in Milan, in the hope of facilitating visitors who, in less time and with one single trip, will thus have an opportunity to attend both events”, said Proposte President Viganò.
The choice made by Proposte Board of Directors is meant to confirm the continuity of the global event dedicated to furnishing fabrics and tapestry, enabling exhibitors to present their collections to the traditional, professional, qualified, and, above all, numerous Proposte community.
There will be 61 manufacturer exhibitors and 9 magazine exhibitors including Home Textile Exports. Turkish exhibitors accepted inside the villa are Akarca, Burkay, Dilhan, Evimteks, Güleser Terstil and Penelope Dokuma. As in past years, the exhibitor selection criteria are demanding and apply only to high profile collection producers. The indispensable paradigm for showing at Villa Erba is based on professional ethics, commitment to research and to experimentation in terms of aesthetics and of technology, and compliance with international regulations regarding deontology and sustainability. The exhibitors will welcome visitors and clients from all over the world.
Once again, but more significantly so this year, the new galleries from abroad are the living proof that excellence in the world of furnishing fabrics comes from all continents and that quality and value are not just a question of nationality but also of substance, of reliability, of efficiency and of creativity. With each new edition, Proposte is becoming more and more an international event, a vital showcase for high-end fabric and curtain manufacturers from all over the world.
Admission to the fair is reserved for sector operators working in the following professional categories: Textile editors, Upholstered furniture manufacturers, Wholesalers, Converters, Large-scale distribution chains, Contract operators, Journalists, Architects and Designers.
For the sixth year running, in the 2021 edition the parallel exhibition International Observatory will also be held on the same days as Proposte. The participating firms, all from abroad, will exhibit in venues close to Villa Erba -Sheraton Lake Como Hotel, Spazio Como and CernobbioShed -and well connected to the Fair via shuttle bus service. Operators will have direct access using their Proposte badge or may request accreditation at the front desk. The International Observatory is the only event external to Villa Erba supported and recognized by Proposte.
