Turkish companies participated in Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2012 fair under the organization of Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association has changed the minds of buyers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea and the USA to buy Made in Turkey textiles with their superior qualities.
The Association’s president ibrahim Burkay said, “While Chinese firms having difficulties to participate individually in the fair held in Turkey and in Europe, we challenged them by coming into their countries as the second largest group of country after hosting China.

Chinese have shown great Interest İn Turkish stands
Chinese companies’ imitation ability was proved önce again when Turkish companies saw their catalogues for 2011 at stands of Chinese companies, they thought that they were theirs’.
There are great opportunities for Turkish firm focused on functional textiles in China where the prospective eco-city for one million will import most of the textiles from abroad.
The fair held in Shanghai, regarded as a gate for Asia-Pacific market, has been participated by 41 Uludağ exporters for the fifth time this year, ended. Turkish companies were the largest group after native participants in the fair. Turkish companies was targeted mainly to Chinese buyers, however, with their attractive, differentiated and high quality offerings, they also impressed other buyers coming from Malaysia, Indonesia, imitation catalogues perplexed Turkish managers. The section where Turkish companics cxhibited thcir goods has attracted great interest.

Turkey’s share was a meager of 60 million dollars. Our exports through this fair is growing 20 to 25 percent each year. He pointed out the Chinese way of imitation by saying, “Our friends from Turkey has seen their products and even catalogues at the stands of Chinese companies and thought that they were their own. The Chinese have both imitated our products and even our promotional materials.” He also said, “There are great opportunities for Turkish firm focused on functional textiles in China where the prospective eco-city for one million will import most of the textiles from abroad.”
