Downlite – which sells to the home, hospitality and outdoor industries – has installed new state-of-the-art pillow equipment its headquarters facility.
“The new equipment allows us to continue fulfilling the ongoing, high demand we are experiencing, in both natural filled pillows and our natural chamber pillows,” said Brian Parnes, COO, who was recently promoted within Downlite to the position.
From a sustainable standpoint, the new equipment increases efficiency by more 30%. “One of the great features is the fill reclamation system built-in to prevent fill losses and scraps, which is more energy efficient on a per-unit basis,” he said.
Recently, Downlite also expanded its feather and down processing facility in Toronto to meet the customer demands within the outdoor division. “As part of our overall growth strategy, we are focused on continued investments to increase capacity, provide our customers with excellent products, ontime service and making sure we are adhering to our sustainable goals,” said Joe Crawford, CEO.”
He added, “Investing in state-of-the-art equipment for our USA facilities is a priority. USA manufacturing allows us to react quickly to our customer needs and also reduces our overall carbon footprint.”
