Please tell us about the establishment of Bendi and its brief history ?
“Bendi Ticaret was established in 1960 by Sami Sençiçek, who is now our Honorary President. Since than, our company’s motto is “correct and honest trade”.
What does your product range include?
Having started the activities with bags and artificial leather, we are also enjoying the achieved honor of being the first company to reach customers in the Anatolian region of Turkey in our sector with our strong sales and marketing activities.
In 1984, our company finalized the institutionalization process and named as Bendi Artificial Leather A.S. fully focusing on perfect customer satisfaction. Our company is the first and only company with the high affords in Research and Development studies to bring new things to the users in automotive, of fice and home furniture. In order to maintain the stability and of product range and quality, our company continues brands of “BSD Deco” and “Microline” for artificial leather and flock fabrics. We also invest in Human Resources by implementing new and young key personnel to business life.
Your company is one of the most successful companies in the sector. What are the main factors underlying this fact?
Our success in export is mainly based on our quality level of products, high level of service provided and interaction with our customers. We are now expending our sales and marketing activities in key territories by establishing branch offices in order to be in even higher interaction with our customers.
Export market mainly focuses on the quality as well as research & development. Our R&D team is structured of well-educated professionals who are willing to be the leader in the industry with new designs and production techniques. We are very active in the international trade fairs as well as the ones which are held in Turkey. Our local branch offices and our company management participate in the fairs together. We have had great success in the past and will continue working on this direction.
Why should customers prefer Bendi? What good reasons would you like to mention?
Customer loyalty comes with hard work and honesty. in our industry, sure as well as the others, product, place, price and promotion are very important points. We believe that we are strongly working on these points on an intensive basis to keep our customers happy. Looking at the global trend and production curve of artificial leather, it is easy to see that the production of artificial leather and the artistic touches is sliding from Europe to Turkey mainly with the result of the investments in the last 10 years. Turkey has a key strategic location with the ability to combine Europe and Asia as well as the accessibility to Af rica and Middle East, Turkey is very strong in building trade relations with its neighbors.
How do you assess the present and future positions of Turkey in the artificial leather sector?
I believe going forward; Turkey will be even in a stronger position in sales and export of artificial leather.
Finally, can you tell us about your investment plans and future expectations?
Our aim has never changed since the first establishment 52 years ago. We should focus on the quality of the products and service level provided to customers will have to improve on a daily basis.
Trying to maintain this, we have invested in ISO 9001 AFAQ Quality Standards as well as IQNET Certified Management Systems. These standards support our improvement on daily basis.
Besides, investment in new production techniques and designs opens gates to new customers by satisfying more and more needs everyday.
