The world’s largest furniture trade fair CNR İMOB-International Istanbul Furniture exhibition closed its doors breaking new records. In the exhibition which lasted six days, export contracts worth 1.2 billion dollars were reportedly signed. More than 1000 companies participated in the exhibition which hosted 122 thousand 516 visitors including 38 thousand 816 foreigners.
Organized by CNR Holding company İstanbul Trade Fairs, CNR IMOB was held for the 15th time at CNR Expo on January 22-27. The furniture industry which is one of the sectors in Turkey having a foreign trade surplus has made its mark on CNR IMOB with the high participation rate and export agreements made.
Export contracts totalled 1.5 bn dollars, organizer reported
Indicating that more than a thousand companies had participated in the exhibition hosting professional buyers and visitors from around the world which had a huge turnout, Ceyda Erem, CNR Holding Chairwoman said, “Due to the intensity experienced in IMOB, 500 firms had to line up on the waiting list. This year, the number of foreign buyers has increased by 67 percent, reaching 38 thousand 816. We welcomed foreign visitors from 131 countries including Iran, Libya, Israel, Iraq, Palestine, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Morocco, Germany, Jordan, Iceland, Panama, Monaco, Puerto Rico, and Macedonia. A total of 122 thousand 516 furniture buyers visited the exhibition. We also made a significant contribution to the industry’s 5 billion dollars export target. Throughout the 6-day-long exhibition, export contracts worth 1.2 billion dollars were signed and business connections worth 1.5 billion dollars were made.”
Noting that the Global Market Intelligence System implemented with the support of CNR Holding’s International Business Development Department, Erem said that they had invited furniture buyers from all over the world, especially the major buyers who have not yet entered the Turkey market, to the exhibition and brought them together with Turkish companies in line with their needs. Erem also emphasized that the exhibition had taken place on 150 thousand square meters area.
Turkey’s most comprehensive buyer delegation program was hosted in the exhibition where key decision makers with a high purchasing power of more than 550 foreign companies participated in the B2B Matchmaking Program.
