At the Hometex 2025 Fair, held at the Istanbul Expo Center between May 20-23, 2025, a total of 100 member companies of Denizli Exporters Association (DENİB) participated as exhibitors, including 94 companies from Denizli and 6 from Uşak.
DENİB Chairman Hüseyin Memişoğlu, sharing his assessment about the fair where Denizli Exporters Association participated with an info stand under its Turkish Towels brand, stated:
“As every year, Hometex hosted leading global buyers in the home textile sector again this year. As Türkiye’s production and export hub for home textiles, we showcased the wide product range of our members with 100 companies.
The textile and apparel sector, as the locomotive industry of our province, plays a leading role in our regional development thanks to its contribution to sustainable exports, employment, the development of design culture, innovation, and its strategic position.
The participating companies presented their highquality, value-added, and design-oriented home textile products to buyers from various parts of the world.
We are going through a period where the global trade landscape is being reshaped daily. Exporters must closely follow numerous dynamic factors such as the U.S.’s additional customs duties—which have been postponed for 90 days—its policy to reduce its foreign trade deficit, new climateoriented regulations in the European Union, the current situations in competitor countries, and interest and exchange rate policies. All these processes are becoming more critical than ever for our exporters in determining their strategies, while also requiring constant adaptation and innovation.
Today, we need to shape our foreign trade policies with a more proactive approach. In today’s trade ecosystem, the key to standing out in competition lies in the ability to adapt quickly to change. I would like to emphasize that Denizli companies have always played a pioneering role in fast adaptation. I believe that the Hometex fair has been a significant opportunity to demonstrate our strong presence.”
Denizli Leads Türkiye in Towel, Bathrobe, and Bed Linen Exports
Sharing his views on Denizli’s textile-apparel sector and its home textile subcategories, DENİB Chairman Hüseyin Memişoğlu added: “In 2024, Denizli’s textile and apparel exports reached $1.4 billion, accounting for 32% of our total exports. When we analyze the subcategories, our province ranks first in Türkiye for the export of towels, bathrobes, and bed linens. Denizli accounts for 76% of Türkiye’s total towel exports, 67% of bathrobe exports, and 60% of bed linen exports.
In global towel exports, we alone hold a 6% market share. We continue our Turkish Towels brand promotion efforts in our target markets and are in negotiations for new sponsorship agreements. We believe that as our brand awareness increases, our global market share in towel exports will also grow. Moreover, we can confidently state that exports in these product groups generate substantial added value. While Denizli’s average export unit price stands at $2.11, the unit price for towels, bathrobes, and bed linens reaches $10.10.
These figures strongly reflect Denizli’s power, deep-rooted history, and export potential in the home textile sector. Furthermore, the rising global awareness of environmental sustainability and quality standards offers significant advantages for companies like ours that produce at high standards,” he said.
