We made an interview with Fatih Ozdemir, Vice Chairman of Doksan Denizli Dokuma Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S., about Doksan and their activies
Could you inform us about history of your company?
Doksan Denizli Textile Industry and Trade Co. started its first production in 1988 by manufacturing fabric. We began the business in the early 1988s as a terry fabric manufacturer. The firm has continually developed new designs and searched new type of fabrics and technologies. In late 2005, we completed our new facilities and changed all machines to the latest versions. We are one of the rare companies which managed 2008 economic crisis successfully and increased customer satisfaction. Over the years, we have assembled a team of more than 35.000 designs and become a most competitive company on designing and production development. In 2011 and 2012 all machines have been changed again to have more flexibility on production and to have best quality for our customers. Now the company has latest technology in its facilities and supplies biggest
brands all around the world.
What are your product groups and production capacity?
We produce towels, bathrobes, dressing gowns, baby products and woven fabric and knitted fabric. Our production capacity; Bathrobes: 250,000 pcs / month, Towels: 300,000 pcs / month, Pajamas, dressing gowns: 60,000 pcs / month, Baby Products: 250,000 pcs / month, Woven Fabric: 250.000 Kg / Month and Knitting Fabric: 300,000

Could you give us information about your production facilities?
Our production facility consists of weaving, knitting and cutting, embroidery, sewing and dyeing sections. The greatest proof of our sensitivity as to protect the environment is that we only have factory with green chimney in this region; we have all kinds of devices and equipment dedicated to keep and maintain clean air and water. We never utilize heavy chemicals and alcohol solvents. The sensitivity is certified by GOTS and the Ministry of Environment.
Could you inform us about current export markets and target markets?
We export 70% of our production to the Central Europe; we export notably to Germany and France 60% of the products. Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands have 15% share. And we exports to the countries Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Greece’s about 3% of our products. Apart from these countries we export to Scandinavia. about 15% of our production we export to Sweden, Norway. Also we export to U.S. and Israel partially about 5%. In some period we export to Russia with a ratio of 1-2%.
What is your policy on customer satisfaction?
Since the company was formed our ambition has been to offer the best possible service to our customers. Regular investments in the latest and very best machinery
and technology brought in from all over the world, constantly training our 850 qualified staff to achieve the best management practices and most efficient and cost effective production methods has enable Doksan to become one of the largest home textiles companies in Turkey. Our many very large and smaller, retail and wholesale customers in all parts of the world appreciate our innovation, design, quality and adherence to agreed delivery dates. We have certificates to confirm our compliance with the best environmental and social practices BSCI, EOKOTEX, REACH, GOTS and SUPIMA.
The loyalty of our customers is our best testimony and our ambition is to improve all the time.
Do you participate in international trade fairs? What do you think about the importance of trade fairs in the sector?
Heimtextil Home Textiles Fair in Frankfurt held in January is the most important trade fair for us because we are an exporting company. We started to fabric sales with our newly established dyehouse facility. So we will take our place in Hall 1, Stand D-08 of 19th EVTEKS Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition. We think that such international fairs we hold are very important in order to introduce our country and promote our products at the international level.
What about your goals for the year 2013?
We aim to grow our company in 2013 and later years. For it, we will offer our quality products for the world market without compromising on quality and strive to increase our international market. I hope we will achieve our goals. That’s why we are a very good team as Doksan family.
