Having set a goal to find customers from countries other than Europe, Egem Textile achieved it before the arrival of the year 2013%.
Residing in Denizli, Egem Textile is a company that manufactures any kind of home textile products. Egem Textile exports to many countries, but for them, countries other than Europe countries were more important in 2012. Because they wanted to expand their exportation area and find new markets, which they soon achieved. Ibrahim Uzunoglu, the owner and the General Manager of Egem Textile told that it was a source of pride for them to be able to export to a country other than Europe countries.
We made and interview with Uzunoglu in order to gain more detailed information about the factory.
Could you please tell us a brief history of your company?
Our company, Egem Textile was founded in 1996 and despite its young age it has established a strong and respectful place in the sector. We are producing any kind of home textile products such as velvet, jacquard, dobby, yarn-dyed, top-dyed, embroidered and printed in world-class quality.
Apart from fulfilling the design and samples in desired quality with the fast service understanding, we are offering Ecocotton Peskur and GreenBlack brands every year with new concepts to our customers’ likes.
We received ISO 9001 certification for our quality policy, OEKO TEX 100 for caring about environment and health and also GOTS in organic production. Our exportation to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, France, Italy, Greece, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Swiss, Finland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Canada and the U.S.A. reached a volume worth 6.000.000 g in 2011.
As Egem Textile, we acquired increasing quality and continuity in production; keeping the customer satisfaction level on top; following the developments in technology; keep on working in accordance with the environment and the laws as a vision.
What are your product groups?
Our product groups consist of towel, bath robe, bed linen and baby products.
Could you please give information about your current export markets and the markets you target?
Our export for the year 2011 was around 14 million TL. These values equal 800 tons of volume in total, 3 million pieces of towel and 150.000 pieces of bathrobes. We are exporting organic products to many countries in the world, being Germany, Denmark, Swiss, Italy, Ukraine, England, USA, Switzerland and Austria in the first place.
We had set new markets as a goal for the end of 2011. We were seeking to find customers from continents other than Europe so that we could contribute to our exports. Thankfully we achieved these goals by exporting to countries like Japan, Morocco and the Philippines. Exporting to these countries is another source of pride for us.
What is your customer satisfaction policy?
It is our quality policy essential that both product and service quality satisfy our customers.
Do you participate in international fairs? Could you please give information about the importance of the fairs in the sector?
2 foreign (heimtextil,shanghai) and 2 domestic (evteks,zucex) we are participating in 4 international fairs in total.
Have you set any goals for 2013?
Our goal for 2013, like in the past, is to catch the previous year of export in numbers and hopefully to serve our current customers faster and better. Besides, with Ecocotton brand, we are aiming to strengthen our penetration and to be able to supply our customers’ demands.
