UTIB keeps its leading position in R&D and innovation in 2014 as well.
Developing new projects and designs have become an important factor for the success of companies in world markets. Furthering its efforts on the way to 2023, UTIB, Uludag Textile Exporters’ Association, organizes again a traditional contest of project and design under the coordination of Turkish Assembly of Exporters and Bursa Chamber of Trade and Industry and supported by the Ministry of Economy.
Separated in two the contests both are open to professional, academia, students and freelance entrepreneurs. For project contest, participants will offer their ideas as a complete project covering its budget, target market, export and sales potentials etc. The design contestants will submit their designs as end products to the choice of sector professionals. Dead line is 14 February 2014 for the contest and finals are in the 3rd April 2014.
In 2009, the first year of the contest, 67 projects of 145 participants applied. Last year number of projects were 330 and number of participants was 2,500. Even more figures are expected this year both from Turkey and abroad. 80 of the project submitted earlier to the international project market have been awarded by various incentives.
It is expected that projects will be from wide range of textile fields such as, military, vehicle, building, functional textiles and home textiles like bathrobe, towel, drapery, upholstery, carpet, etc.
Contestants of four categories of home textiles, bed, drapery, coach and bathroom, each fore-runners will be awarded by TL 7,5 thousand, seconds TL 4 thousand and the thirds TL 3 thousand. The most innovative design will earn TL 10 thousand. Some chosen project owners will be supported by the Economy Ministry for their education abroad for two years.
