A Bursa-based company, Kirayteks started the production of some important items of the textile industry for the first time in Turkey.
Onur Kirayoglu answered the questions of Home Textile Exporters about the success story of Kirayteks:
Could you brief us about your company?
The foundation of Kirayteks dates 50 years back when it was opened by the superiors of our family as a textiles store. Now we, as the third generation, have the honor of carrying the flag of the company in the organized industrial zone. Our familiarization with textiles dates back to 1960s. As a corporation organization the company took its today’s structure in 1993 as Kirayteks Textile Industry. Since then it has been operating in Demirtas Organized Industrial Zone, Bursa.
We are one of the first companies in roller blinds and sun protection fabrics. We have the highest capacity of pleated blinds in Turkey. We are now exporting fabric to some countries from which we would import fabrics some time ago.
Our company is the first mattress ticking producing company in Turkey at the same time. When we started this business 30 years ago, this product would be imported. That importation was decreased after we entered this business. But today there are giant companies in this business and our country is a good exporter of mattress ticking.
Can you tell us about your product groups and production capacity?
The product group which we are the most leading in and we have made serious investment in is sun protection fabric produced with the technology of technical textiles. We are the leader company in this item in Turkey with over ten years of experience. We range second in mattress ticking fabric which we have been producing over 30 years. In addition to plain and jacquard woven fabrics we have a wide design and quality portfolio in knitted production as well.
What about your production facilities?
Started first with plain and jacquard weaving work Kirayteks has currently been continuing its industrial life with dyeing, finishing, printing and knitting plants. Aiming at the technical textiles in 2000 our company has made great machinery and facility investments.
Can you inform us about your existing and prospective export markets?
We have been exporting to all continents. We have a strong market in Russia and Near Eastern countries but we are working on American and markets in other far land countries by promotional activities and fair participations.
How is your customer satisfaction policy?
The most classic answer would be customer satisfaction is the most important factor. And it is difficult to achieve this. Otherwise, the most important thing in competition is to gain the satisfaction of customers as far as quality and service are concerned. We do our best to establish the best possible friendliness with our customers. We spare no efforts to meet their expectations.
Do you participate in international fairs and do you have targets set for 2014?
Analysts talk cautious for the first half of 2014. We do the same and keep our investments accordingly. Still, we never compromise less then 15%. We will not cut off from promotional expenses. We have already planned the participation in over 10 international fairs in 2014 and 2015.
Anything you would like to mention?
2013 passed under the shade of political fluctuations for all of us. This has caused to be cautious for investments and had a negative affect on markets. As Kirayteks, we faced stagnancies at every part of the textile industry at different periods of this time. But fortunately there have been some positive developments leading the way to survival in Europe and America and this has started to reflect on our operations.
I wish success in 2014 for our nation and foreign industry word considering the stability of our economy is linked to the global chain.
