MAISON&OBJET is continuing its transformation. Following the creation of the ACTUEL sector in hall 5B and the new dynamism of the accessories sector, attention has now shifted to the la table and coté déco areas. The aim of these changes is to remain in line with market reality, to better promote innovation, as well as to rationalize and optimize visitor journeys, whether retail purchasers or specifiers. la table becomes cook design (hall 3) côté déco : adopts a new look (halls 4 et 5A)

From September 2013, MAISON&OBJET is offering a new approach to dining and cooking in hall 3, with cook design.
Cook: because dining and cooking become one when we consider the pleasure of preparing and sharing a meal.
Design: because creativity and innovation are seen on every dining table and in every kitchen, from new designs to new materials and new equipment…
A concept designed for cook-shops, concepts stores and specialists in dining and cooking – all retailers and professionals seeking creativity and trends. An event which extends the pleasure of dining and cooking to the restaurant as well as the home!
côté déco: adopts a new look (halls 4 et 5A) The trade show has treated côté déco to a makeover. In order to respond to market changes, côté déco charme, côté déco références, and inspiration jardin have joined together under a single banner – côté déco – to be found in halls 4 and 5A.

The ACTUEL area is flourishing, just like the contemporary style it promotes. Meticulously designed by Jean Philippe-Nuel and located within the BUSINESS LOUNGE, this popular area with specifiers now has a stronger identity.
The ACTUEL area groups an urban, modern and high-end range, presented in the spirit of diversity characteristic of MAISON&OBJET.
home accessories: trends and discoveries (halls 5A- 6) The ultra-dynamic home accessories sector contains the l’enfant, moving, fragrance & spa and objet de mode sectors in a frenzy of creativity and novelty
To promote it, since September 2012 MAISON&OBJET has highlighted the most innovative offers from these sectors in a Best Of identified by a brightly coloured carpet in the entrance to hall 6.
Almost 200 exhibitors are selected each session. Trends to look out for this September include the return of authenticity, caprice, creativity and people. For these exhibitors represent a real groundswell in interior design which is expressed both at moving, and objet de mode as well as in the aisles of fragrance & spa.
The plant kingdom is taking over MAISON&OBJET at the “DESIGN BY NATURE” trade association stand (hall 6, home accessories) with DESIGN BY NATURE: a new look at plants. Val’hor, the horticultural, floristry and landscaping trade association, is renewing its partnership with MAISON&OBJET, inviting florists and gardeners to discover the latest decoration and design trends.

Design à vivre has managed to develop a unique message combining a high-quality, industry-wide product range, including indoor and outdoor furniture, accessories, lights, textiles and hi-tech solutions. A 360° analysis of objects and design territories, with the collective expression of several countries that choose this professional event to present their most promising talents to international buyers.

Odile Decq, Designer of the year MAISON&OBJET 2013 Hall 7
Tribute is paid to MAISON&OBJET 2013 Designer, architect Odile Decq, through a retrospective exhibition looking back on the highlights of her career. Odile Decq opened her agency immediately after graduating in architecture and urban planning. International recognition came quickly with the Banque Populaire de l’Ouest in Rennes in 1990 and the Lion d’Or in Venise in 1996. For around 15 years, Odile Decq worked on design and architectural projects side by side, including furniture for UNESCO in Paris, armchairs for the restaurant at the Paris Opera House, lights for MACRO in Rome and Pavillon 8 in Lyon. MAISON&OBJET Designer of the Year, Odile Decq offers visitors a journey through her world, in which architecture and design push back their boundaries.
Each session, MAISON&OBJET offers seven up-and-coming designers an expression area, allowing them to present their work to professionals from around the world. The names to discover in September are Barnabé Fillion, Raphaël & Réjean, Bien des Choses, Emmanuel Bossuet, Grégoire Delafforest and Evor.

This exhibition offers a unique and enlightening experience, with various facets in each area. Light can be calm, encouraging contemplation and relaxation, but also stimulating, revitalising and vibrant. It could be monotonous, mysterious, crazy, restful, warm, funny, amusing or exciting. Just like a person. Light generates space and character.

For this new edition of the Maison&Objet trade show, matériO, the library of innovative materials based in Paris, Brussels, Prague and Bratislava brings us a selection of materials which are sometimes amusing, often technical but always astonishing. The matériO team invites us to discover ultra-efficient materials in terms of a specific criterion such as lightness, solidity, cost, aesthetics, artistic quality or rarity! “Ze most” therefore represents an inspiring collection, a much-needed offering of materials and technologies within the Projects area of Hall 7, completely reinterpreted for this new session.

The Ateliers d’Art de France trends forum presents an area designed by Elizabeth Leriche to promote our leading craftsmen. The Ateliers d’Art de France Young Designers competition presents its September 2013 winners: Maria Friese (textile craftswoman), Florie Dupont (jeweller and setter), Carole Dumont-Georges (ceramicist), Aurélie Abadie & Samuel Saugues (hand glassmakers), Aurélien Allier & Antoine Puygrenier (jewellers), Lorris Pasquier (cabinet-amker).

The MAISON&OBJET Club is having a makeover in September. Reserved for the most influential contacts on the art of living market, the Club welcomes exhibitors, purchasers, specifiers, creative professionals and designers, allowing them to meet in an informal and confidential atmosphere. Le BUSINESS LOUNGE, hall 5B
THE BUSINESS LOUNGE, the space for business and meetings with specifiers
The Business Lounge is a friendly and lively area and the starting point for a special
ARCHI.DESIGNER pathway that identifies 500 exhibitors focused on the needs of specifiers. Located in the heart of the ACTUEL contemporary furniture area, it aims to be a major meeting place between specifiers, hoteliers and restaurant owners, ARCHI.DESIGNER labeled exhibitors, the specialist press and specifier institutions. The area, designed by Didier&Fabrice Knoll Architecture Design aims to promote the human relations aspect of the Business Lounge so that great meetings lead to great projects.
Based on targeted introductions, MAISON&OBJET organizes networking events at the Business Lounge to facilitate contacts, particularly between architects and property developers, but also with hotel and restaurant groups. A rich source of events and potential meetings, the BUSINESS LOUNGE also offers roundtables organized from Friday to Monday examining subjects ranging from acoustics and soundinsulation of communal spaces to experience-sharing regarding integration of home automation. It also offers cocktails each evening, as well as cookery demonstrations… A space where business takes on a human dimension.
L’espace Retail, hall 5A
THE RETAIL AREA – advice and innovation dedicated to points of sale
Since its establishment in 2011, the Retail Area has become a much-anticipated event for retailers and distributors faced with changing consumer behavior. THE RETAIL AREA responds to their questions by offering advice, ideas and solutions to improve the commercial performance of their points of sale. This area will benefit from a new concept and a new location from September. Now located in hall 5A, the Retail Area will present a specialist selection of international points of sale which are seen as benchmarks in their cities and their countries: MARSEILLE, BERLIN, ISTANBUL, SINGAPORE, BANGKOK, MOSCOW, SAO PAULO, MEXICO, etc. – unique points of sale identified within these emblematic cities and the secrets to their success!
Throughout the session, it will also be hosting discussion workshops chaired by specialists, addressing specific retail themes from visual identity to product presentation and sales strategy.
